One Voice Call for Composers 2020
FEBRUARY 1, 2020 - This call for composers aims to commission a young, emerging, and/or mid-career woman composer to write a new SSA choral piece to celebrate One Voice’s inaugural season. One Voice is an auditioned choir for young women ages 13-18 and seeks to identify a composer willing to write a fresh and engaging new work for the 30 young women of the new ensemble. One Voice is dedicated to empowering young women, connecting communities, and nurturing creative expression through the study, practice, and performance of high level choral artistry. One Voice is pleased to partner with Detroit Composers’ Project to select an artist that will inspire and challenge the young women of the choir to engage in creative collaboration and explore new work.
